In 2004, shortly after the TEDC enlisted Holy Name Hospital to be the major sponsor of the new banners on Teaneck Road, the TEDC formed a Committee that focused on the Teaneck Road Business District from Route 4 to Tryon Avenue. The festive banner hanging ceremony brought the residents, business owners and property owners in the district together along with State Legislators,
Councilmembers and Clergy.
In 2006, the TEDC voted to extend the District to Cedar Lane to focusing on the "Gateway to Teaneck", the Committee now called the Teaneck Road Business-Community Alliance dedicated itself to improving communications, appearance, business mix and property owner relations. The Committee has held business quarterly forums, community meetings and has worked to improve information flow to the business and property owners.
That same year, the TRBCA was able to raise funds to feature holiday snowflake lights throughout the district. A Dedication ceremony for the lights was another important step for the residents, property and business owners in the Teaneck Road District.
In 2006 and 2007, the TRBCA spearheaded a series of visioning meetings in which residents, business and property owners

developed guidelines and standards working with the TEDC, the Township of Teaneck and the consulting engineering firm of Christopher Statile and Company planned the upgrading of eight intersections from Route 4 to Tryon Avenue. This "Futurescape" plan now has drawings done by the consulting engineers Statile and Company and is in the process of grant funding applications.
In 2007, another consortium of residents and business owners focused on the zoning in the District and brought changes to it that were in line with the vision of the group. The new "B-R Zone" or business-residence zone features lower more manageable heights and increased parking throughout the district to keep it resident-friendly and accessible shopping/living area.
With a host of new businesses and regular ribbon cuttings, Teaneck Road's vacancy rate continues to be low.
The TRBCA continues its work to make a vision come true for the "Gateway to Teaneck". Overall, the current mission of the TRBC is to revitalize Teaneck Road from Cedar Lane to Tryon Avenue in order to attract shoppers from all segments of Teaneck and neighboring towns, yet maintain a small town image.
